Our Photo Insights feature helps create a more tailored experience for you on Tinder.
How Photo Insights work
We analyze your profile photos—both ones you’ve already uploaded and any you add in the future—and store related tags to generate insights that help enhance your Tinder experience. These tags help us better understand your interests, lifestyle and preferences, allowing us to create an experience that is more personalized to you.
Remove Photo Insight tags
Technology isn’t perfect, and we won’t always get it right. If you’d like to remove some or all of the tags associated with your photos, follow these steps:
- Open the Tinder app
- Tap the profile icon
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Photo Data
- Tap Manage Photo Data
- Select Manage photo data tags
- Tap the ‘x’ next to any individual tags you want to remove or tap ‘Remove All’ to remove all tags currently associated with your account
Note: choosing ‘Remove All’ will not opt you out of Photo Insights for any new photos you upload to your account.
How to opt out of Photo Insights or delete your data
This feature is optional and you can opt out anytime. Opting out of this feature will automatically remove all of the existing tags associated with your profile photos. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open the Tinder app
- Tap the profile icon
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Photo Data
- Tap Manage Photo Data
- Turn off the toggle next to ‘Use photo data’
How Photo Insights uses your data
The tags we generate from your profile photos are used to generate insights that help us learn more about you. These insights are in turn used to explain why certain recommendations may be more relevant to you. The generated tags are totally within your control. When you remove the tags that aren’t relevant to you, it helps to further improve these recommendations, resulting in an even more personalized experience on Tinder.
Photo Insight tags associated with your profile will remain active as long as they aren’t deleted and your account is open. If you remove tags from your profile or delete your account, previously associated tags will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Visit our Privacy Policy to learn more about our privacy practices, including the Your Rights section. You can also learn how to request a copy of your data.
