In this guide, we'll walk you through the simple steps to upgrade your subscription and make the most of your Tinder journey.

Upgrade your subscription

1. Open Tinder. 
2. Tap the profile icon. 
3. Go to Settings (app only). 
4. Select Get Tinder Gold™ or Get Tinder Platinum™. 

Your subscription should update immediately, unlocking the premium features included in your new plan. 

Note: When upgrading your subscription, you can change the type, but not the duration. So, if you have a 6-month Tinder Plus® subscription, you can switch to a 6-month Tinder Gold™ or 6-month Tinder Platinum™ subscription.

Billing details

There are some important differences in billing based on your device:

On iOS

• Full payment upfront: You’ll pay for the total cost of your new subscription immediately. 
• Refund for unused time: Apple should refund the unused time on your old subscription. It may take a few business days for this to show in your account. 
• New renewal date: Your subscription will begin to renew on the date you upgraded.

On Android

On Android, billing details depend on how you paid when you first subscribed. 

Did you first subscribe using Google Play? 

• Prorated payment: You're charged for the difference between your old and new subscriptions, adjusting for any unused time on your old subscription. 
• Same renewal date: Your original subscription renewal date won’t change. 

Did you first subscribe using the direct credit card option? 

• Full payment upfront: You’ll pay for the total amount for your new subscription immediately through Google Play. 
• Refund for unused time: You'll get a refund for the time left on your old subscription within a few days. The refund will be sent back to your original payment method.
• New renewal date: Your new subscription will begin to renew on the date you upgraded.

On tinder.com

• Full payment upfront: You’ll pay for the total cost of your new subscription immediately. 
• Refund for unused time: Expect a refund for any remaining time on your old subscription within a few business days.
• New renewal date: Your subscription will begin to renew on the date you upgraded.

Missing option to upgrade 

If you're using an Android phone and don't see the option to upgrade, it might be because we no longer accept the payment method you used when you first subscribed. In this case, you can cancel your subscription and wait for it to end. Once expired, you can start a new subscription to Tinder Gold™ or Tinder Platinum™.
