Update your Discovery preferences
Discovery is the part of Tinder where you see other peoples' profiles. You can adjust your search preferences and control who you see in Discovery by editing your Discovery Settings.
To edit your Discovery Settings:
- Open Tinder
- Tap the profile icon
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down to Discovery
From here, you can update your Discovery Settings like sexual orientation, age, and distance to customize who you see on Tinder.
Dealbreakers
We may show you potential matches that are outside of your distance and age preferences, mostly when you run out of recs within these ranges. Are these preferences considered Dealbreakers for you? You'll see toggles below each slider in your Discovery Settings that control whether or not we show you people slightly outside of your ranges.
Turn off Discovery
When you turn Discovery off, your profile won't be be shown to anyone new on Tinder, but you'll still be able to view and chat with your matches.
To hide your profile:
- Open Tinder
- Tap the profile icon
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down to Discovery
- Find Enable Discovery
- Turn the toggle off
Note: People you Liked before turning off Discovery can still see your profile and Like you back. This means that you may get new matches even with Discovery off.
