If only some of your potential matches are far away, there are a few reasons why this might be:
- Passport - They may be using the Passport feature to check out potential matches in your current location. On a similar note, if you’re a Tinder subscriber and have recently visited another city, you may see people from there for up to 24hrs after changing your location. Only Tinder subscribers can change their location.
- Discovery Settings - We may sometimes surface potential matches that fall slightly outside of your preferences. Although they’re a bit farther away, we hope you agree they’re worth the exception. To double-check your distance preferences: tap the profile icon > Settings > scroll to Discovery > see Maximum Distance. You will see a toggle below the distance slider in your Discovery Settings that controls whether or not we show you people slightly outside of your range.
If you think this is more of a technical issue, you may want to try these troubleshooting steps:
- Log out and log back in by tapping the profile icon > Settings > scroll down and tap Logout.
- Delete the Tinder app and reinstall it.
