Chemistry helps you discover more personalized connections based on what matters to you. This tool recommends profiles with a high chance of sparking a conversation, and uses information from your Tinder profile, your answered preferences/questions, and if you choose, your Photo Insights, to highlight recommendations and draw attention to potential shared interests. Chemistry is available for iOS users in select markets.
Accessing Chemistry
To see your recommendations and drops:
- Open Tinder
- Tap on the profile icon
- Tap on the Chemistry icon

Using Chemistry
Chemistry works in a few key ways to help tailor your experience:
- Chemistry insights: Chemistry curates insights that fit your unique preferences and interests. It looks at your profile information, your responses to Chemistry questions, and your Photo Insights, if you opt in. Insights are used to help Tinder personalize your experience and better connect you with others.
- Chemistry Drops: These are curated recommendations that highlight someone who could be a strong match for you. Think of them as personalized suggestions delivered regularly.
- Most Compatible: A special type of Drop that appears at the start of your Tinder session in markets where Chemistry is not available. You'll receive at most one Most Compatible drop per day.
Stop using Chemistry
Using Chemistry is completely optional! You can use Tinder with or without it.
If you’ve tried the feature but decide you need a break, no problem. Simply don’t tap the icon in the top right corner of your Discovery screen. The icon will still appear, but using it is entirely up to you.
Manage Chemistry insights
Review and manage your insights in the Insights Hub. There you can view or remove insights used to personalize your experience.
To access your insights follow the steps below:
- Tap the Diamond icon in the upper right corner of your Discovery screen
- Tap Explore My Insights
- View all of the insights generated from the questions you’ve answered
- To delete any of your insights, tap the Insight you want to remove, and then tap Delete
If you’ve chosen to allow Photo Insights, this data will also be used to influence your insights. You can learn more about this here.
How we use your data for Chemistry
Chemistry generates insights about you and what you’re looking for, which you can access and control at any time, as described in the Section above. These insights are generated based on your Tinder profile information and activity, how you answer Chemistry questions, and if you’ve opted in, your Photo Insights. These insights are used to personalize your experience and help connect you with others, for example by highlighting why a Chemistry Drop might be relevant for you and to help showcase who you are to potential matches.
