Requesting a copy of your personal data

At Tinder, we're committed to protecting your data and privacy, as well as providing you access to the information you have shared with us. If you’re a user with an active account, or a user who’s been banned or suspended, you can request your personal data through our Download My Data (DMD) tool. If you can no longer access your account (for example, because you deleted it), you can contact us to request available personal data. You can find more information on how to request your personal data, the DMD tool, and what may be included in your data download below.

Requesting and downloading your data

Requesting

1. Visit our Manage My Account Tool and log in. 
2. Tap “Download My Information”.
3. Enter the email address where you’d like to receive the download link.
4. Tap “Submit”.

After you submit your request, we’ll email you a download link within a few days. Please follow the instructions below on how to access the data download.

Downloading

1. Open the email from us letting you know your data is ready (the subject line will be “Your Tinder privacy request”).
2. Tap the download link in the email to save the ZIP file.
3. Extract the ZIP file.
4. Open the index.html file to view your data in a browser.

It’s possible that any emails regarding your data request (including your data download) could be caught in your spam folder. Please be sure to check your spam folder, as well as your primary inbox. 

After unzipping your download, you’ll see a folder containing your personal data. Inside the folder, you may find an index.html file, a user-friendly version of your data download. Open this file in your browser to explore your data. You may also find a structured, machine-readable version of your data in JSON format.

What’s included in your data download

Your download may include information about:

• Account and profile information
• Preferences and settings
• Photos and other media you uploaded
• Messaging activity
• Swipe and match activity
• Purchase and subscription information
• Connected services (such as Spotify)
• Usage and technical data

Much of the information you'll receive through this ‌tool is largely already available to you through the app, such as your email address, phone number, profile photo(s), messages, and preferences. 

The data in your download may vary depending on the way you have used Tinder. If a section appears blank in your download, it means there is no data for that category in your account. Some types of information won’t be included in your file, such as data that has been deleted in accordance with Section 9 of our Privacy Policy, or information that could affect another person’s privacy or safety.

Questions and other requests about your data

While most requests for data can be handled through our DMD tool, some requests or questions regarding your data may need to be raised with us directly. This may be the case where:

• You’ve already deleted your Tinder account, but would like to request available data.
• You can’t access your Tinder account, but would like to request your data.
• You require specific information or data for legal or law enforcement purposes.

In such cases, you can submit a data access request as follows:

1. Visit our privacy request form.
2. Under “What’s your concern?”, select “I have another question about my data”.
3. In the “Description” field, include the details of your request.
   1. Please provide an email address we can reach you at. If you're a Tinder user, include the email that is associated with your account. You can also provide attachments to help us respond.
4. Select “Report”.

For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you for information to verify your identity or authority to act on behalf of a user before we can answer your request.
