Your Type

Your Type is a feature for improving your Discovery experience and clearly communicating what you’re looking for on Tinder. Your Type is available for Android and iOS users in select markets.

Accessing Your Type

Your Type is generated after you Like 10 profiles. Once it’s been generated, you can find Your Type by following the instructions below:

1. Open Tinder
2. On the Discovery screen, tap the Discovery Settings button (icon). You’ll see your card here.

Using Your Type

Your Type takes the Discovery experience and gives you new ways of expressing what you want to find on Tinder. It takes 10 Likes to generate Your Type, and this is refreshed every 10 Likes after generation. Your Type is a short description of the type of person you typically Like, shown on a shareable card (with 6 colors for customization).

You’ll have the ability to thumbs up or down Your Type card. Within the same settings, you’ll be able to navigate to your Discovery and preference settings to tailor your settings to match Your Type.

How your data is used for Your Type

• Your Type looks for repeated patterns across the profiles you've recently Liked (last 10). 
• Your Type considers data from the profiles you Liked, such as relationship goals, interests, zodiac, pets, education level, as well as bio text and photos. 
• Your Type never uses or references a user’s age, exact location, school, employer, race/ethnicity, religion, politics, or similar sensitive traits. 

The description on Your Type card is refreshed every 10 Likes. If you don’t send enough new Likes or become inactive, the description on Your Type card is deleted.
